A Faustian bargain? The growth of management and its relationship with related disciplines

Article Abstract:

The relationship of management research with the related disciplines namely psychology, sociology and economics with a view to trace the evolution of management research over the last twenty five years is presented. It is noticed that the Academy of Management journal has played a very important role in shaping management research over fifty years of its publication and will continue to do so in the future.

Knowledge transfer through inheritance: spinout generation, development, and survival

Article Abstract:

The effects of knowledge capabilities of industry incumbents on the generation, development, and performance of "spin-outs" are investigated. Findings reveal that incumbents with both strong technological and market pioneering know-how generate fewer spin-outs than firms with strength in only one of these areas.
