US companies, especially those in the high-tech field, are recruiting skilled foreign workers to fill vacant positions. The low unemployment rate in the US has created a shortage of American workers. The cap for foreign workers for 1998 was reached by mid-May.

OSHA is moving on ergonomics rule

Article Abstract:

OSHA is developing a new standard that will require employers to ensure that the workplace minimizes the risk of repetitive motion injuries or other injuries due to poor ergonomics. Business tends to oppose such a standard due to the implementation cost.
