A cure for health

Article Abstract:

Professor John Dwyer of Prince of Wales hospital is of the opinion that the medical care system in Australia is geared towards handling the medical emergencies rather than the prevention of the same. A change in priorities could bring down the health care costs substantially. The major hurdle in health care provision is the way the funding and responsibility for the system is split between the Federal and State Governments.

Shipshape for a bid

Article Abstract:

Backed by the Australian government, the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) is on the verge of getting $4.5-6 billion agreement for air warfare destroyers and the $1.5-2 billion agreement for amphibious vessels in the end of 2005. Labor's defence spokesman Chris Evans emphasizes that the bidding procedures of the two agreements must guarantee the best price for taxpayers.

John Anderson is intending to resign as National Party Leader and deputy Prime Minister of Australia and is expected to sign an agreement that will create Australia's first national rail network. John Anderson feels that the use of rail in big cites will reduce the gridlocks in their road transportation.
