A measurement model of the dimensions and types of output and behavior control: an empirical test in a salesforce context

Article Abstract:

A measurement model was developed to study the implications of behavioral and output control on job effectivity. Results of the modeling showed no direct correlation between the two types of control and their implications on job effectivity. Modeling also showed control to be more directly related to role ambiguity and job tension and indirectly related to performance. A good basis for the control strategies to be implemented is the extent of communication of goal information, which reduced ambiguity, reduces the need for control and increases performance.
