A rewarding business

Article Abstract:

Visa International introduced co-branded Telstra and Qantas credit cards on June 14, 1995, and since then Visa has taken the lead over MasterCard International Inc. in the credit card industry. Visa has 7.6 million credit cards to MasterCard's 3.4 million. Visa cardholders charge $5000 a year on their cards compared to $3800 for MasterCard customers. MasterCard has taken a more technical and consultative approach to its business. Both companies have taken advantage of Internet commerce and support SET, a secure electronic payment system.

Every year 'AT Kearney', the investment consulting firm prepares a list of top 100 companies which give a sustainable share holder return (SSR). Of the 100 companies, some are categorized as 'value growers' which are companies that produce positive long-term shareholder returns combined with above-average long-term growth.
