AOL says earnings more than doubled

Article Abstract:

America Online reported that net income for the quarter reached $338 million as part of an overall revenue growth of 39%. This solid report deflected fears that problems in the dot-com sector would hurt AOL's advertising sales. CEO Steve Case noted that these results occurred during a quarter when AOL was preparing for its merger with Time Warner.
