Access, resource, and cost impacts on consumer satisfaction with health care: a comparison across alternative health care modes and time

Article Abstract:

A model is developed to assess the implications of access, resource and cost of various health care modes on customer satisfaction with their preferred health care mode. The three customer choice of health care modes examined were voluntary HMO membership, assigned HMO membership and fee-for-service membership. Results show that customer satisfaction is deeply dependent on services provided, which reflects in the higher satisfaction with fee-for-service mode than that of membership in HMOs.
