Accountants refuse to roll over on derivatives

Article Abstract:

Large banks in the US are attempting to prevent the implementation of new derivative disclosure rules by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Federal banking regulators would decide whether the board could implement new rules and accounting standards would be established by the federal government through the Securities and Exchange Commission if banks obtain their way. The new derivative disclosure rules would force companies to disclose their involvement in hedging and derivatives.
