New title on the cutlass edge of software

Article Abstract:

Cyberflix's predictable $39.95 Red Jack: Revenge of the Brethren CD-ROM game features swashbuckling digital pirates and numerous other high-seas adventures. The object is to identify the traitor, avenge the great fallen pirate, and sail off into the sunset with the girl and gold. Players must shepherd the young hero through an assortment of vicious characters, dangers and a love interest. 3D modeling and animation software still struggles to depict realistic games involving characters, but Red Jack offers some new features. It is possible to see the actors breathe as well as change facial expressions and emotions. Verbal communication is another matter, as a multiple-choice format of terse dialogue does little to reveal a pirate's thoughts.

Evolution, with a beat you can dance to

Article Abstract:

Ideas for many different types of software and CD-ROM's come from many different places, including evolution. The newest CD-ROM product from Notting Hill Publishing is called "Dancing DNA." It is an image of the DNA molecules that evolve into a creature to the rhythm of music. Apparently, it is finding quite an audience in nightclubs in London, the location of Notting Hill Publishing.
