Bank industry

Article Abstract:

The slowing US economy and slower revenue growth are two reasons that the bank industry may have difficulties during 2001. There is pressure to increase loan loss reserves, as well. Investors must be selective when evaluating these securities.

Recent trends in the performance of the banking industry are discussed. It is suggested that most stocks in the Midwest Bank Industry will probably not outperform the Value Line environment.
