Boeing Co. chooses Deborah C. Hopkins of GM Europe as chief financial officer

Article Abstract:

After only three years as GMEurope's CFO, Deborah C. Hopkins was hired for the same post at Boeing where her leadership, planning skills, international experience and her "strong profit-and-loss perspective" will be put to the test of boosting profits. This makes the 44-year-old Hopkins Boeing's highest ranking female. Prior to joining GM she spent 13 years at Unisys Corp.'s Worldwide Information Systems division. Before accepting the Boeing position, Hopkins was a candidate for CFO at Electronic Data Systems Corp., a major client of GM.

Cigna director's diversity challenge hits a dead end

Article Abstract:

In 1997, the world of corporate directors was stunned when Frank Jones resigned from his position on Cigna Corp.'s board of directors. Mr. Jones resigned in protest against Cigna's pace in hiring and promoting minority employees. Mr. Jones had called for the company to to form a new board panel, appoint a special internal auditor, and choose an independent outsider to oversee Cigna's attempts at implementing ethnic diversity in its hiring and promotional procedures.

Domino's reaches beyond its industry to name Brandon as chief executive

Article Abstract:

Domino's Pizza hopes for fast delivery from its new CEO, David A. Brandon. The new executive takes over for co-founder Thomas S. Monaghan who started the pizza delivery chain in 1960 along with his brother. Brandon was recruited after running Valassis Communications since 1989. He worked at Procter & Gamble prior to Valassis. Domino's holds the number two position behind Pizza Hut.
