Brand resurrection

Article Abstract:

Pacific Brands, Australian apparel company's performance in the year 2004 has been good. The company announced after tax net earnings of $47.4 million and its shares closed at $3.16 in the November month. This is especially note worthy as the company was written off by the market analysts when it purchased several barely profitable brands from the Sara Lee Corp of United States in 2001 even when its' own brands were not giving the required profits. The reasons attributed to the company's success and the emphasis on advertising and marketing strategies are also discussed.
