Business methods - patently obvious?

Article Abstract:

Challenges the Internet, high technology, and electronic commerce pose to the practice of intellectual property law are examined, focusing on the growth in business method patents and the politics of forming a legislative response. Topics include examples of business methods patents, such as a patent on online reverse actions and cyberspace football games; the abilities of the US Patent and Trademark Office to address the issues; and the introduction by by Reps Howard Berman and Rick Boucher of the Business Method Patent Improvement Act.
