Choosing development methods

Article Abstract:

Management trainers should not expect the same development methods to work in an equally effective manner in all situations. They should understand both their client groups and the characteristics of each training method, and ensure that they pick the appropriate method for each situation. Client characteristics which influence the acceptability of methods include age, sex, nationality and learning styles. Some training methods are more suited to skills training, whilst others are useful in providing insight, and others are good for communicating knowledge.
