Claiming refunds for value-added taxes

Article Abstract:

Companies that conduct business in Western Europe may wish to claim refunds on value-added taxes on goods and services. The value-added taxes are about 15%, and can constitute a substantial refund, but the refund process can be time-consuming. Value-added taxes and refund specifics are discussed.

Computerized mapping software by Microsoft Corp., Rand McNally, and DeLorme are evaluated based on performance. Mapping software typically retails for $40 to $50. An automatic mapping system used in Hertz rental cars is also evaluated for accuracy of directions given by the system.
