P&G, Frito-Lay in Mexican-ad standoff

Article Abstract:

The potato chip advertising battle in Mexico between Frito-Lay's Sabritas and Procter & Gamble's Pringles is getting dicey. Sabritas is using P&G's slogan for Pringles, 'once you pop, you can't stop,' and P&G is suing. But Sabritas registered the slogan first, with Mexico's National Institute for the Protection of Industrial Property. P&G esta enojado (is infuriated). It might help Sabritas that it uses 100% Mexico-grown potatoes; on the other hand, it won't help that some of the Sabritas bags say, 'made in the U.S.A.'
