Consensus forecasts of financial institutions

Article Abstract:

The US economy is expected to continue with its strong performance up to 2002. The consensus, reached through a survey of financial forecasters, also predicts a continued strong showing by the nation's consumer sector. Financial forecasters are predicting a slight decline in the interest rates and low to moderate price increases. Business investment is expected to improve further and the number of unemployed will maintain its present low level.

Consensus forecasts of financial institutions

Article Abstract:

A survey of economic forecasters reveals a bright economic outlook for late 1999 and onto the year 2000. Economic forecasters expect the real gross domestic product (GDP) to grow to about 2.3% from 1999 up to the year 2000. The expected growth in GDP is partly being attributed to an expected rise in consumer spending. On an annual basis, current dollar personal consumption expenditures are expected to grow by 4.8% over the next four quarters.
