Coping with a leader's depression

Article Abstract:

A temporary employment agency owner became depressed after his company developed problems. After losing money gambling and respect of employees and clients, the owner sought counseling. The therapist diagnosed depression after visiting with the owner, who recovered. The business survived.

Resolving Conflicts 0f Interest

Article Abstract:

Family-owned businesses should anticipate possible conflicts of interest and establish a policy that no family member does business with the family firm. Guidelines to follow if an outright ban is not possible are suggested.

Where does all the money go?
