Cross-functional project teams in functionally aligned organizations

Article Abstract:

Cross-functional teams are theoretically the proper solution for organizations to quickly react to changing market needs. However, most functionally aligned entities have reported poor results in attempting to incorporate such teams into their structures. Thus, integrating cross functional groups into hierarchical organizations is clearly a serious endeavor. Within this context, organizations must be well cognizant of the possible issues that can arise from attempts to integrate two different cultures.

An organization approach to contract resource fulfillment

Article Abstract:

A resource pool organization is a type of outsourced organization wherein skills developed by the mother company's in-house information service departments are marketed. The effectivity of such an organizational structure is reflected in IBM's wholly owned subsidiary, Integrated Systems Solutions Corp. (ISSC). ISSC reported improved average billable hour rates, higher site profits and time and material contracts exceeding objectives shortly after transforming into a resource pool organization.

Article Abstract:

Morale is an important factor in industrial productivity. It is related to the sentiments of individual employees in four areas, namely the job itself, workgroup, management practices and economic rewards. Organizations can effectively boost employee morale by establishing clear goals, providing fair measurements and giving constant feedback.
