The renewal agenda: sustainable development for organisations

Article Abstract:

Industry is increasingly committed to sustainable development and companies are starting to place more importance on environmental issues. There is a need for all organisations to have a renewal agenda for the modern world. In order to achieve an inclusive approach to organisational renewal, firms need to consider their relationships with employees, customers and suppliers. New approaches will be needed to organisational consulting and renewal specialists must be aware of their clients' understanding of sustainable development.

Taking M. Scott Peck's community building into organisations

Article Abstract:

Community building is an idea developed by Scott Peck and the US Foundation for Community Encouragement which seeks to foster a community spirit. Groups go through stages before becoming a community. The aims include tolerating ambiguity, encouraging integrity and civility, and being open to experience. The idea relates to concepts of personal development and authentic communication. There may be resistance to accepting these ideas, but there are benefits for those who try them out.

Article Abstract:

Organisations that aim to be socially responsible need to change the attitudes of their employees through individual development.
