Despite stumbles, Wall Street holds promise

Stock market fundamentals remain positive in spite of the 1.98% average decline in domestic stock funds in 1st qtr 1997. Only minor increases are expected in interest rates. Diversifying internationally and moving some funds from stocks to bonds are two suggestions for investors.

Investors continue to pile up profits

Article Abstract:

Mutual funds that invest in small firms reported average increases of 20% in 1996 and 9% during Jan-Jun 1997. Small-company funds tracked by Lipper Analytical Services reported an average increase of 27% in 1st qtr-3rd qtr 1997.
