Determination of an optimal set of design requirements using house of quality

Article Abstract:

An integrative decision model was utilized to determine an optimal set of design requirements (DRs) that can be added into a new product or service. The new model improved the traditional house of quality (HOQ) prioritization process for acquiring importance ratings of DRs by establishing the level of importance of customer requirements (CRs). Moreover, the new model utilized the swing method relationship rating scheme in determining relationship ratings between CRs and DRs. The swing method enables practitioners to accurately measure the decision-maker's opinion on DRs and CRs relationship.

Validation of the Arizona Governor's Quality Award criteria: a test of the Baldridge criteria

Article Abstract:

The Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award (MBNQA) criteria, which is used by numerous firms to enhance the quality of their products and processes, is found to be useful for researchers studying organizational quality. Each of the criteria's 7 factors is found to have a construct validity. Moreover, test results also show that the criteria also have predictive validity. However, due to the confidentiality of the MBNQA, the Arizona Governor's Quality Award (AGQA) was utilized because of the relative similarity of the two criteria.
