EarthLink starts free-thinker campaign

Article Abstract:

EarthLink Network's $15 million ad campaign featuring Galileo, Magellan and other free-thinking images eludes to the fact that the Internet service provider provides unfiltered access to the Web, unlike MSN and America Online, which can manipulate a customer on where to go. TBWA Chiat/Day created the campaign designed to appeal to artists and those that feel the Internet should not have too much corporate interference. EarthLink has 4.6 customers, second to the giant ad and commerce-driven AOL, but EarthLink has already signed up 100,000 customers for broadband access.
