Electronic funds transfer in banking: implications for manufacturing businesses

Article Abstract:

Electronic information transmission will be a potentially large cost reduction technique over the next decade. The electronic transfer of funds by banks has proven to be an effective method of controlling cost in the banking industry and the general principle of electronic information transfer may be quite applicable to the manufacturing sector. Another potential benefit is better inventory control which can be used in times of high interest rates to reduce inventories and cut losses.
