Entertainment industry

Article Abstract:

Improved technology, popularity, and high and steady demand for many entertainment products has put the US entertainment industry in an enviable position in 1999. The Internet could be a benefit to the industry as entertainment companies can provide the content which the Internet needs, but it could be disruptive, as well, and older media are doing well, also. These stocks are only mid-range in timeliness for 1999, but several, such as Walt Disney Co and Time Warner Inc, have good appreciation potential.

Entertainment industry

Article Abstract:

The entertainment industry has changed in the 1990s with the introduction of the Internet, which is influencing the larger companies in this sector. Traditional broadcast entities are merging with online services as the lines between the two segments are being blurred, and the growth of the Spanish-speaking population in the US is having an influence, as well. Several of these stocks are expected to perform well in the next three to five years.
