Article Abstract:

The Main Roads Department of the Queensland State Government has purchased the first Xynetics flat-bed plotter made by Daini Seikosha of the Seiko company to be used in Australia. The plotter, costing over $100,000, has double the American version's resolution, runs off-line, has a plotting head that is operated magnetically and electronically, and offers an optional continuous paper feed for graphical output. The Main Roads Department needs precision, high speed, and reliability for its designing, construction, and maintenance responsibilities. A picture of personnel with the plotter is included.
