First-quarter GDP revised downward

Article Abstract:

The GDP increased at a rate of 0.9% during 1st qtr 1993, according to a revised report of the Commerce Dept. GDP increased 4.7% in 4th qtr 1992. The decline in GDP was attributed to an increase in the trade deficit and flat growth in consumer spending.

Third quarter GDP gain revised upward to 3.9%

Article Abstract:

The Commerce Dept reports that the GDP grew at a 3.9% rate in 3rd qtr 1992. The growth was caused by increased productivity and the unemployment rate was not affected. The composite of leading economic indicators rose 0.4% in Oct 1992.

Jan.-March GDP growth revised upward

Article Abstract:

The Commerce Department reported that GDP increased at an annual rate of 2.7% in 1st qtr 1992. A previous report had indicated that the growth rate would be 2.4%.
