Jobless rate unchanged at 7.3%

The Department of Labor reports that the unemployment rate in Mar 1992 was 7.3%, the same rate as Feb 1992. Experts believe that this indicates that the economy is recovering slowly.

May jobless rate increases to 7.5%

Article Abstract:

May 1992 unemployment increased to 7.5% from 7.2% in April, the highest increase since Aug 1984. There was a gain of 68,000 jobs in May, but 331,000 workers joined the labor force.

The Labor Department reports that the US unemployment rate was 7.1% in Jan 1992, the same rate as in Feb 1992. Some 51,000 payroll jobs were lost in the retail trade industry.
