The operating environment for the Japanese electronic and entertainment industry in the year 2001 remains difficult with profit margins harder to sustain. Continued technological innovation is the one bright spot for this sector. Most of these stocks are untimely for the year 2001 and most investors need to be selective.

Consumer electronics firms in Japan are not expected to do well in 2001, as business conditions both in Japan and abroad have eroded. The Japanese semiconductor industry is also facing the same poor economic conditions. These stocks are not timely for investors in 2001.

The lack of personal consumption has caused the Japanese electronics and entertainment industry to struggle throughout the year 2001. Japan may have to change many of its economic plans as a result. These stocks are not timely for 2001 and 2002.
