Article Abstract:

Many young entrepreneurs are turning to franchising to make profits. Many young people disregard the notion that entrepreneurs need experience and jump into franchises. However, there are pitfalls to running franchises and proper education is important and business people must plan, be flexible, and to build partnerships. Self reliance and good employees are also important.

More than 7 million people in the US work as sales representative for companies that use multilevel marketing (MLM). MLM methodology includes one-on-one selling and home-party selling. Successful MLM companies maintain good relations with sales representatives and market good products.

Kansas Cty, MO; Oklahoma City, OK; and Toledo, OH, are three cities with programs to encourage entrepreneurship. Kansas CIty has a Small Business Week each year to honor top entrepreneurs. The 1995 Oklahoma City bombing created new ties between entrepreneurs and support organizations.
