From experience: time-driven development of software in manufactured goods

Article Abstract:

Many products contain microprocessors requiring software to run them, and software engineering is becoming an important part of goods manufacturing. Techniques for hardware-software product development are presented in the areas of management and economics, development processes, and product design. Ten tools for management of product development involving embedded software are also included.
