General Nutrition sets accord to open vitamin shops in Rite Aid drugstores

Article Abstract:

Rite Aid's 3,900 drugstores will carry a new brand of vitamins and supplements manufactured explicitly for the joint venture with General Nutrition Cos. In 1,500 of the drugstores, General Nutrition will open a store within a store. The vitamin firm has a total of 3,898 free-standing stores in addition. The new brand will be called PharmAssure. If the deal works out well, the1,500 Rite Aid locations could be expanded.

North Face loses footing, takes tumble

Article Abstract:

The outdoor equipment company that was founded in 1965 by Esprit de Corp. founder Doug Tompkins has had several owners and is now known as a popular outdoor apparel company. North Face Inc.'s sales last year were reportedly $3 billion, but there are many questions now, about sales and other financial issues. There are currently five class action suits against the company that has been public only since 1996.
