The various research and academic efforts focusing on the significance of word of mouth in marketing, are discussed. Word of mouth is increasingly becoming more important for managers. The need to provide managers with the ability to harness the power of emerging tools and techniques and word of mouth is turning into an exciting area of inquiry.
