Article Abstract:
Nick Brittan, a former automobile racing driver, plans to stage a 30-day car race from London to Sydney in 2000. Each car will have two drivers, and at least one of them should be a competent mechanic. Participants will drive from London to Greece, then travel by ferry to Turkey and drive to Iran. From Iran, cargo planes will provide an airlift to Thailand, and competitors will drive to Singapore for an airlift to Darwin, Australia.

A guide to luxury automobiles and sport utility vehicles priced at A$40,000 and above that the auto industry plans to market in the last half of 1997 and in 1998 is presented. The luxury motor vehicles are made by Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Ford, Holden and Holden Special Vehicles, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Saab, Volkswagen and Volvo.
