Global Positioning grows

Article Abstract:

Global positioning system (GPS) technology has entered the mainstream as its continuing growth will make it as ubiquitous as the telephone and automobile, according to a study conducted by Mountain View, CA-based Frost & Sullivan. The GPS market has grown to almost $1.2 billion in 1997, largely on account of growth in high-volume consumer GPS land and marine markets. The biggest sector, the land-based GPS market, will remain the biggest until 2004, accounting for almost half of the revenues between 1994 and 2004.
