Going overseas is the go

Article Abstract:

Australian investment managers should be given back the discretion to allocate between Australian and international equities, as superfund trustees usually allocate about 20% of the fund's assets to international equities. Because the international bond and equity markets have changed, advisers suggest more globalization in the form of overseas investment. Fischer Francis Trees and Watts Inc. (FFTW) and BNP Management Inc. are developing a new diversified bond fund for Australian investors. BNP will handle asset allocation decisions, and FFTW will handle international securities selection.

Choice of superannuation means buyer beware, very aware

Article Abstract:

Proposed changes to how employers would pay their superannuation guarantee payments to employees could mean markedly increased commissions for financial institutions and a possible change in the level of national savings. At-large employer decisions from among three payment options will determine the outcome. The choice of option will depend partly on assumption of liability and the efficiency of company payroll and administrative systems.
