Healthcare info. systems

Article Abstract:

Greater levels of competition, increased use of capitated fees, and managed care are some of the factors that have spurred health care providers to spend more for medical information systems. However, performance for stocks in the healthcare information systems industry was mixed for the 2nd qtr of 1998, but are expected to perform better in the second half of the year. These stocks have good potential for investors through the years 2001-2003.

Healthcare info. systems

Article Abstract:

The total quality management (TQM) initiatives being implemented by healthcare providers will make healthcare information system stocks good investment bets between 1995 and 2000. Since TQM efforts revolve mostly around the clinical area, companies that market clinical systems, data repositories and connectivity software will be especially attractive. Still, stocks should be chosen with care because the industry is undergoing consolidation.
