Hospital web sites: Promise and progress

Article Abstract:

The promise of various web site features for hospitals in the areas of patient and physician communications is discussed to gauge the progress that hospitals are making in realizing the benefits of using Internet. It is observed that the progress towards using web sites for appointment scheduling or providing discussion forums about health care is likewise confined to a small group of hospitals.
