Ownership structure, expropriation, and performance of group-affiliated companies in Korea

Article Abstract:

This research article shows the economic importance of majority shareholders within South Korean companies, sometimes to the detriment of minority shareholders. The article documents methods of these majority shareholders in financial transactions with regards to the companies.

Institutional ownership differences and international diversification: the effects of boards of directors and technological opportunity

Article Abstract:

This research paper presents evidence to suggest that significant relationships exist between institutional ownership and international diversification. This is especially true for professional investment funds with outside board members and pension funds.
