ION a recharged force

Article Abstract:

The manufacturing investment company, ION, is moving from expansion through acquisition to an organic growth strategy, which is intended to transform the company into an important automotive component supplier. The company's high level of capital expenditure is causing a great concern to investors because they believe that the company will need to raise new equity for new business, but ION insists saying that it can fund the spending through internal cash flow and a special funding facility.

The private equity firms are experiencing high stock prices as they continue to earn greater profits. With their investors holding expectations that they produce a strong returns, and strong competition from their counterparts in terms of finding new investments which in turn is forcing higher prices, most of the equity firms are more eager to purchase companies of family and private business owners in order t o keep the cash flowing in to areas that provide more benefits.

Don't rely on Packer magic

The CPH Investment Corp. takeover bid for Challenger International was well-received in Australian markets due to investor enthusiasm for CPH controller Kerry Packer. However, investors should buy into the stock based on the merits of the deal rather than Packer's involvement.
