Explaining sales pay strategy using agency, transaction cost and resource dependence theories

An analysis is presented on sales pay strategies for 325 French-Canadian organizations using resource dependence, agency, and transaction cost theoretical perspectives. Findings show that pay policy is more accurately explained using an integration of multiple theories, rather than a single one.
