Involving information system users in defining system requirements: the influence of procedural justice perceptions on user attitudes and performance

Article Abstract:

User participation in the development of information systems (IS) is encouraged, due to its positive effects on the behaviour of IS users and the quality of IS. Studies showed that perceptions of procedural justice affect individual attitudes and behavior over decision-making processes. Voice was regarded as a model of process control that may lead to favorable outcomes. IS managers can benefit from participative processes by providing employees with some degree of process control.

An empirical test of the strategic-grid model of information systems planning

Article Abstract:

Contingency models, such as the strategic-grid model, predict behavioral characteristics between organizations and information systems planning. IS planning problems which are resource, process, and productivity related can be analyzed using the model via effective measuring instruments. Though the results of the study are equivocal, it supports the proposition that the impact of incongruent IS planning approaches will be generalized throughout the IS planning activities.

Organizational computing as a facilitator of operational and managerial decision making: an exploratory study of managers' perceptions

Article Abstract:

The research investigated the use of information technology (IT) and its influence on operational and managerial decisions. Decision information channeled through IT such as e-mail, groupware, and electronic meeting systems, are now made available to managers. The study also provided evidence that managers will tend to credit improvement in decision making to the usage of IT.
