The great pork gap; hog prices have plummeted. Why haven't store prices?

Article Abstract:

When hog prices to the hog farmers are down 65 percent, but down only 2-3 percent at the retail level, there's something fishy. Farmers don't even bother to shop around for a good price; they just want a packer to say they will take a truck full of pigs.
