At Qwest, a chance to become really big

Article Abstract:

Qwest Communications International Inc. is going after U S West Inc. and Frontier Corp., both of which had agreed to be acquired by Global Crossing Ltd. Qwest chief Joseph P. Nacchio has assembled a serious team unafraid to enjoy themselves while crushing the competition. And Qwest's founder, Philip Anschutz's deep pockets as well as the Telecommunications Act of 1996 contribute to the company's competitiveness. There is also a personal rivalry between former AT&T executives Nacchio and Global Crossing chief Robert Annunziata. Await round two in the battle of the communications moguls.
