NAFTA panel upholds Canadian decision rescinding injury finding on U.S. steel imports

Article Abstract:

The NAFTA Binational Panel will uphold a ruling by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) which holds that imports of cold rolled steel from U.S. manufacturers are not causing injury to the Canadian steel industry. The ruling is being challenged by four Canadian steel companies, Stelco, Dofasco, Ipsat Sidbec, and Algoma Steel.

Cleaning up Canada's small appliance market: CITT finds injury to domestic Canadian industry from U.S. dumping

The Canadian Trade Tribunal (CITT) releases a ruling to the effect that the dumping of household appliance products, including top-mount electric refrigerators and gas or electric laundry dryers manufactured by White Consolidated Industries and Whirlpool Corp, is causing economic damage to the Canadian appliances industry.

Canada loses NAFTA Chapter 11 PCB case

Issues concerning Canada's ban on the exportation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) waste are examined, focusing on a decision by the North American Free Trade Agreement Tribunal (NAFTA) that the ban violates NAFTA and thus discriminated against S.D. Myers, an Ohio-based waste disposal company.
