Networking in the Russian aerospace industry

Article Abstract:

The Soviet Union's aerospace industry, like every other sector of the country's economy, was under a centrally administered innovation system. Under this system, networking in the industry was undertaken by the ministry of defense, design bureaus, manufacturing plants, research institutes, universities, testing centers and the Aircraft Certification Authority, with the main actor being the aircraft design bureaux. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union, new actors, including customers, financiers, the Dept. of Aviation Industry and international certification authorities entered the network.
