Networking strategies for minority managers

Article Abstract:

A survey of 63 middle-managers holding similar jobs shows that fast-track minority managers tend to develop networks that differ significantly from networks developed by their fast-track white and non-fast-track minority counterparts. According to the survey, fast-track minority managers are able to relate well with both minority and white informal circles. They believe that keeping in constant contact with both groups allow them to develop and implement strategies that will spur career growth.

Protean careers of the 21st century

Article Abstract:

Careers will undergo drastic changes by the 21st century. These will be protean or controlled by persons rather than the organization. Success will by measured in terms of psychological fulfillment such as family happiness or inner peace rather than position or financial gain. Careers will also shift from being a series of developmental stages to a series of learning stages and identity changes.
