New push by business to lift immigration

Article Abstract:

Australian business leaders are encouraging immigration growth to increase economic activity, especially innovative economic activity, and to rebalance the age of the population. Immigration is not popular with certain parts of the population because of high unemployment in the region. The house construction industry is a major proponent of more immigrants.

The group includes Tony Wales, the finance director of Computershare, who is currently worth approximately $AS315 million.
