Next-Generation Word Processing Package Introduced for Tower

Article Abstract:

Syntactics Corp.'s CrystalWriter word processing package is designed for 68000-based multi-user Unix systems. It provides comprehensive on-line help, minimizing the need for the manual and uses only twenty English commands so that inexperienced users can quickly master the basics. With CrystalWriter, users specify the type of document to be created and the package automatically formats the text, including the margins, vertical spacing, justification, tabbing, document length, and printing style. It sells for $1,000. Photographs of screen displays are included.

ADCOM Releases Software Package

Article Abstract:

NCR's Advanced Distributed Communications (ADCOM) software package is designed for implementation on the NCR 82XX and NCR 9020 computer systems. It functions as a data transmission controller and job management package. It provides a link for the transmission of data between a central processor system and remote terminal locations. The majority of the code is written in COBOL to allow user modification. Finally, concurrent IMOS processing allows other jobs to be run while ADCOM is running.

NCR Purchase Order Package Aims At Retailers

The Starcom Purchase Order Management module, by NCR, is designed for use by apparel and other general merchandise stores. It provides remote, on-line data processing services. This system automatically manages the tasks that are involved in ordering merchandise from vendors, receiving merchandise and distributing the merchandise to the selling floor.
