Article Abstract:

With economic growth continuing, businesses know they must increase their inventories to prevent any shortages. Sales have increased steadily leaving businessmen unable to accumulate any inventory. Businesses have been caught by surprise. They had no idea that sales would increase so fast. Housing and the auto industry have shown a significant increase in sales.

Economists are afraid that the rapid economic growth will push up the rate of inflation. Utilization trends are examined. Economists believe these problems will not occur in 1984, but farther in the future.
